Protix appoints Piotr Postepski as new CCO to drive international expansion

NETHERLANDS – Protix, a pioneering company in the production of insect-based ingredients for animal feed, has announced Piotr Postepski’s appointment as its new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), effective August 2024.

Postepski’s appointment marks a significant step in Protix’s ambitious plans to expand its global footprint in the rapidly growing sector of sustainable animal nutrition.

Postepski brings nearly two decades of international experience in the pharmaceutical sector, where he has held various leadership roles that have consistently driven growth and innovation.

His career has been characterised by a strong focus on business development, particularly in the animal health industry, where he was instrumental in scaling a global, innovative business.

With a background as a trained veterinarian, Postepski holds a master’s degree in veterinary medicine from the Agricultural University of Lublin, Poland.

Additionally, he has enhanced his management, leadership, and finance expertise at the Warsaw School of Economics and the London Business School.

At Protix, Postepski will be responsible for shaping and executing the company’s overall commercial strategy, leading the sales team, marketing, and business development activities, and overseeing product development.

His leadership is expected to play a pivotal role in accelerating Protix’s international expansion while maintaining a focus on profitable and sustainable growth.

Protix is a leader in producing insect-based ingredients for various markets, including pet food, aquaculture, livestock feed, and organic fertilisers.

The company has developed a circular food chain model by using waste from the food industry as feed for black soldier fly larvae.

These larvae are then processed into valuable proteins and lipids, serving as high-quality animal feed ingredients.

The company’s innovative approach addresses key sustainability challenges and contributes to a more balanced and eco-friendly food system.

Since its inception in 2009, Protix has made significant strides in scaling its operations, particularly with the launch of its industrial-scale production plant in the Netherlands in 2019.

The company’s strategy emphasises measured growth and the power of partnerships, aiming to unlock the full potential of insect ingredients on a global scale.
